Noise is not the same as complexity

A founder can have ten active concerns and still face one central choice. Hiring, pricing, positioning and cash may all be present, but treating them as one problem creates motion without direction.

A sharper question sets a boundary. It names the choice, the deadline, the consequence of delay and who has authority to act.

Write the decision before researching it

Research feels productive, but evidence gathered for a vague question usually expands the problem. Write one sentence first: We need to decide whether to do X or Y by this date because this consequence matters.

  • The options are visible.
  • The deadline is real.
  • The consequence is specific.
  • The decision-maker is in the room.

Make the next 30 days useful

A decision earns its place when it changes action. Name what stops, what starts, who owns the first move and which signal will trigger a review. Clarity is not certainty. It is a defensible reason to move.
